Thermal strippers maintain strength of fiber optic

Electronics Production / Materials fiber optic strippers thermal

LASER COMPONENTS TSAB-40 and TSFB-125 thermal strippers remove robust fluoroacrylate coatings without the underlying fiber optic losing its strength. Units use a thermal process that heats the primary and secondary coatings, allowing them to be removed without the blades touching the actual fiber. This prevents fiber breaks and other damage that can occur with stripping tongs or purely mechanical strippers. Depending on the coating material, the temperature of the heating element can be variably adjusted up to 200°C.  With TSAB-40, the distance between the stripping blades can be freely selected to support fiber diameters between 30µm and 1mm and coating diameters up to 1.2mm. In contrast, TSFB-125 is preadjusted for fiber diameters of 125µm and coating diameters up to 900µm.
