Acquiring XCELSIA Technologies opens up new markets and facilitates access to talent pool

Varitron Inc., Saint-Hubert QC, a leading integrated electronic manufacturing services (EMS) provider, has acquired all the assets of XCELSIA Technologies, a Mirabel QC-based manufacturing services provider specializing in electronic circuit assembly.

Under the terms of the transaction, all 15 positions in XCELSIA, as well as its facility at 18005 Rue Lapointe in Mirabel, will be maintained. Varitron, which owns plants in Saint-Hubert and Granby, Québec, as well as in New Hampshire, intends to invest in capacity at this fourth site in 2019.

Better serve the Greater Ottawa Region

“This new site will be dedicated to prototyping and small-batch production, in an effort to better serve our customer base,” explains Michel Farley, president and CEO, Varitron Group. “With this addition, we will enhance our overall capacity. And, with this strategic positioning in Montréal’s Northern Crown, we will be able to better serve the Greater Ottawa Region and access a broader pool of talent, which is a significant advantage in these times of global labour shortage.”

The acquisition will be integrated into company operations immediately. The results will bring enhanced prototyping capacity, which will enable Varitron’s customers to ramp up their projects and rapidly bring new products to market, according to Farley.
