Stamped spring pin socket for NAND Flash memory boosts performance
October 5, 2021 Stephen Law
IRONWOOD ELECTRONICS SBT-BGA-6572 socket addresses high performance requirements for testing NAND Flash memory devices. The contactor is a stamped spring pin with 31 gram actuation force per ball and cycle life of 125,000 insertions. The self-inductance of the contactor is 0.88nH, insertion loss of < 1dB at 15.7GHz and capacitance 0.097pF. The current capacity of each contactor is 4 amps (60C rise). Socket temperature range is -55C to +180C. Socket features a floating guide for precise ball to pin alignment. Socket also features open top lid allowing device top surface to reach specific temperature very quickly by forced air heating.
