The printed circuit board assemblies manufactured for Kongsberg Discovery have never been conformal coated despite their deployment in some of the world’s deepest and harshest environments.. “They simply don’t require conformal coating to protect components from dust and corrosion,” says Kelly. “The robust quality of the boards is what matters most. Dorigo’s boards are so reliable that they are not conformal coated for use in the most rugged ocean depths. They perform flawlessly.”

Kongsberg Discovery’s technologies were used to support the first known solo dive to the bottom of the Marianas Trench, using the second manned craft to ever reach the bottom. The purpose of this dive was to document and analyze conditions in the deepest part of the ocean using modern technology. Kongsberg Discovery’s echo sounders, sonars and sub bottom profilers were used for subsea mapping and were part of exploring the world’s deepest oceans. Dorigo’s electronics were in every one of these products.
