Technical Presentation:
This 40-minute presentation will cover some of the often-overlooked Design for Manufacturing considerations when designing circuit boards. Getting ahead of issues allows for faster time-to-market and improved satisfaction with internal and external customers.

A strong Design for Manufacturing knowledge drives quality rigor and gives R&D teams the ability to design enhanced features at nominal cost increase to customer.

Target audience is Design Engineers and NPI Engineers.

Speaker Bio:

Adam Hook has worn a few hats over his many years in electronics manufacturing. He worked as a DFMA Engineer for contract manufacturer Keytronic where he supported high-yield manufacturing of 206 unique circuit assemblies. He also strongly supported Keytronic corporate quoting teams to win over business by making good on promises improve yields to new customers. Adam also worked for an OEM lighting company where he created tools to improve quality 14 times over whilst increasing throughput 2 1/2 times. Adam also worked for contract manufacturer Dimation which is world famous for its sophisticated rework, flip chip, wire bonding, and quick turn business. Presently you will find Adam at Harvard Bioscience assisting global design teams, working with electronic suppliers to improve yields, and doing everything possible to improve field reliability.
Adam has a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Engineering at Bemidji State University. He is a Certified Advanced Interconnect Designer, Certified Surface Mount Technology Process Engineer, Certified IPC Trainer, and Certified System Administrator for Mentor Graphics Valor DFM tool. He is also the elected President for Upper Midwest Chapter Surface Mount Technology Association.
