Mouser Electronics Inc., an authorized global distributor of electronic components, is now stocking the newly released BeagleBone AI, created by the BeagleBoard.org Foundation.

Built on the proven BeagleBoard.org open source Linux approach, BeagleBonE AI fills the gap between small SBCs and more powerful industrial computers.

The development board is a powerful open hardware computer that makes it easy to explore how artificial intelligence (AI) can be used in a variety of applications, such as automation in industrial, commercial, and home designs.

The highly anticipated designer product is built on a Texas Instruments Sitara AM5729 processor with dual-core Arm Cortex-A15 subsystem, and includes two TI C66x DSPs and four embedded vision engine (EVE) cores with TI Deep Learning (TIDL) support. Bolstering the board’s graphics and display capabilities are an image and video accelerator – high definition (IVA-HD) subsystem with support for 4K at 15 fps, 2D graphics accelerator and a dual-core 3D GPU.

BeagleBone AI includes 1 GByte of RAM and 16 GBytes of onboard eMMC flash, two dual-core programmable real-time units (PRUs), and a pre-installed Debian Linux distribution. The board offers Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.2 connectivity options, plus mechanical and header compatibility with the open source BeagleBone Black. The board also includes connectors for micro-HDMI, USB Type-C for power and SuperSpeed dual-role controller, and USB 2.0 host.
