LoRaWAN network access launch to simplify IoT dev for Canadian tech firms

eleven-x’s LoRaWAN based, long-range Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) service is now available at Wavefront Wireless Zones across Canada

Wavefront Innovation Society and eleven-x Inc. announced a partnership that will make it easier for Canadian companies to develop and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) solutions. eleven-x’s LoRaWAN based, long-range Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) service is now available at Wavefront Wireless Zones across Canada. 

The network enables testing, development and proof of concept deployment of IoT solutions. Since the eleven-x network is deployed coast-to-coast in most major markets across Canada, companies can roll out mass deployments of their IoT solutions upon completion of development and testing.

Wavefront is the Centre of Excellence for commercialization of mobile and IoT technologies in Canada. Working with companies across all industry verticals, Wavefront provides a variety of programs and services to startups, small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), large enterprises and government to help them grow, scale and connect.  Wavefront’s seven Wireless Zones offer a wide variety of devices for rent on a daily basis so companies can test their applications. This dramatically reduces costs and time required to test applications across multiple platforms and networks.

Low Power Wide Area Network optimized to support IoT solutions

eleven-x operates Canada’s first and only coast-to-coast public Low Power Wide Area Network optimized to support IoT solutions. Enabling faster evidence-driven decisions, the low power network facilitates the integration and deployment of IoT applications for Smart Cities, Campuses, Buildings and Enterprises by supporting the use of low-cost battery powered sensors for easy and efficient data collection from assets and “things”. Providing the first development platform in Canada based on LoRaWAN will encourage the adoption of low power wireless IoT applications and enable the development of new and innovative battery powered solutions for the broad Canadian IoT market. The eleven-x network uses LoRaWAN technology, an LPWAN specification intended for wireless communication between battery-operated devices and the cloud in a regional, national or global network. An international standard, LoRaWAN is deployed in over 50 countries worldwide and is backed by the LoRa Alliance™ which includes over 500 member organizations. Enabling eleven-x’s network service at the Wavefront Wireless Zones will allow IoT solution providers to complete development, perform testing and deploy solutions that are ideally suited for LoRaWAN networks.
