MONTREAL – Wavesat, a developer of WiMAX silicon, has received a prestigious Infovision award for its Evolutive WiMAX series for Enabling Silicon and Component-Level Technologies. The award was presented last October in Madrid, at the Broadband World Forum Europe and WiMAX Global ComForum, sponsored by the International Engineering Consortium (IEC).
The InfoVision award recognizes applications, products, and services judged to be the most unique and beneficial to the telecommunications industry based on technological advancement, industry impact, and end-user marketability and adoption.

"Wavesat’s Evolutive WiMAX series is a perfect example of pioneering vision leading to market success."
"We are delighted to be acknowledged with this prestigious award for achieving our goal of developing and delivering industry-leading technology solutions," said Michel Guay, CEO of Wavesat. "To be recognized alongside Alcatel, Alvarion, Cisco and Infineon, to name a few, is a strong recognition for our team’s efforts and further validation of our strategy. Wavesat’s Evolutive WiMAX approach to 802.16 d/e is affecting major changes to the market and ensuring faster deployment of commercial and enduring applications. Our WiMAX DM256 is Wavesat’s 6th generation chip, making Wavesat’s Evolutive WiMAX portfolio a disruptive yet risk-free technology," Guay said.
More than 40 organizations are currently developing products based on Evolutive.
