The 40-position connector has a number of mechanical and electrical improvements to address increased data rates and regulatory requirements. Improvements in electrical performance make it well suited for newer generation 3.5" drives operating at 4.25 and 8.5Gbps data rates.  Insertion loss has been improved by as much as 4dB, and noise reduced. The product is a press-fit and RoHS compliant.
