Newark element14 has reached a new global agreement with Altium, a leading supplier of pcb design software solutions, to distribute CircuitStudio through the recently launched element14 Design Center.

This partnership will be a cornerstone of phase two of the element14 Design Center, which will incorporate a software store that allows customers to buy and receive licenses online for a wide range of engineering software.

“I am delighted we are able to announce this strategic partnership with Altium,” said David Shen, group chief technology officer, Premier Farnell. “With CircuitStudio, we are able to meet the needs of more professional design engineers who demand a simple yet powerful EDA software with the features and functionalities to complete a complex pcb design.”

CircuitStudio is planned for a full launch early in 2015. However, element14 and Altium will shortly be inviting those who are interested to register for the Beta version of the product.

“CircuitStudio is a perfect fit for Newark element14 and its customers,” Shen added. “It complements our existing range of software tools that are already sold through Newark element14, and offers electronics design engineers a natural path to upgrade to complex pcb designs as well as a greater degree of productivity through more efficient project management tools.”

CircuitStudio will combine a streamlined GUI (Graphical User Interface) with a number of professional grade features, including powerful Native 3D pcb editing and straightforward schematic capture and project management tools that bring the best of pcb design tools within reach of even more engineers.

The element14 Design Center is a new resource for engineers offering a comprehensive range of development tool information alongside product details and supporting material. The site also provides application and product information, including 360 degree images, videos and downloads, which are supplemented by stock availability and price, manufacturer details and engineer comments from element14’s leading community.
