The new surface mount housings will be available in the four Han-Eco sizes and with one or two cable inlets. The appropriate M32 cable fittings for sizes 6B and 10B and M40 for sizes 16B and 24B are supplied along with the surface mount housings. Han-Eco covers can be selected with or without an integral seal so they can also be used for both hood and housing applications.
Han-Eco housings are made from fibre glass reinforced plastic which makes them highly resistant to challenging weather and other environmental conditions, yet mechanically robust and lighter and less expensive than comparable metal housings. Another hallmark of the design is flexibility. Han-Eco can be configured with a large number of available Han-Modular modules, to carry power, signal or data.
An optional PE (protective earth) module has been developed specifically for the Han-Eco hoods and housings to hold the protective ground connector. All metal parts in the PE system are fully connected to the protective ground conductor. This prevents the risk of anyone touching live parts if a fault occurs. The housing also is suitable for use on machines and systems with Class II protective insulation.
With its non-metallic housing, weight and cost advantages, Han-Eco is being used both indoors and out. When the connector is closed and locked, it provides IP 65 protection as defined in DIN EN 60 529.
It also meets the demanding flammability requirements of UL 94 Class V0. Another Han-Eco advantage is user-friendly field assembly. All Han-Eco combinations offer tool-free assembly with the ability to apply the locking levers to either side of the connector, making it easy to configure, repair, and install. Each of the four Han-Eco sizes can be ordered with a top or side cable entry.
