‘Zero’ height threaded inserts serve pcbs

EMX ENTERPRISES Keystone Electronics series of ultra-low profile, surface mountable threaded inserts are packaged for use on printed circuit boards (pcb) in the same manner as other SMT components, as a simplified method of adding threads to PCBoards. Manufactured from steel with a tin plate, devices provide an easy method of adding threads to a pcb, while utilizing the same equipment as with other SMT components; resulting in a reduction of handling time or damage that may occur while using traditional threading methods for a pcb. Devices are available in 2-56, 4-40 and 6-32 threads with low profile height above the board of only .012”. Supplied on tape and reel with Kapton tape on top surface for easy pickup, devices are suitable for use with most vacuum and mechanical pick-and-place assembly systems.
