C&K SMT space-grade D-Subminiature (D-Sub) surface mount termination (SMT) range of electrical connectors, under CS-FR053 specification, reduce weight and save space on pcbs, while ensuring straightforward implementation and operational reliability. Suitable for use in space and avionics applications, devices do not require plated holes to be drilled into the pcb, and free up one side for use by other components, resulting in a simpler, lighter design and a miniaturized footprint overall. Constructed from a single part of machined aluminium shell, product series can achieve up to 50% less weight compared to standard through-hole technology (THT) connectors.
