MELLER OPTICS Custom sapphire lenses, windows and prisms are suitable for use in medical lasers, endoscopes, oximeters and other instruments. Products are impervious to harsh chemicals, blood and medications and are extremely durable and available as lenses, windows, and prisms. Suitable for instruments that are in frequent contact with the skin and cleaned frequently, sapphire is impervious to chlorine and fluorine gas and can transmit from the UV to 4.7 microns. Featuring Mohs 9 hardness which is second only to diamond, products are optically clear and manufactured to OEM specifications in sizes from 0.25” to 10” diameters in round or square, concave or convex, and flat or stepped configurations. Sapphire windows transmit up to 85% uncoated and can be coated to transmit > 99%, depending upon thickness.
