INTERNATIONAL RECTIFIER IRS2500S µPFC power factor correction (PFC) control IC for switch mode power supply (SMPS), LED drivers, fluorescent and HID electronic ballast applications. Device can be configured to operate in critical conduction boost PFC or flyback configuration. Product provides a total harmonic distortion (THD) optimization circuit to reduce line current harmonics and has high noise immunity, simplifying design and reducing system cost. Available in an SO-8 package, the device provides micro power start up current of less than 50µA, quiescent current of 2.5mA, drive capability of +800mA/-600mA as well as static and dynamic over-voltage protection and over-current protection.
