SiTIME CORP. XCalibur active resonators are designed to replace 4-pin SMD crystal resonators in demanding applications such as automotive, industrial, and enterprise equipment. Devices provide improved stability over a wide temperature range, greater reliability, reduced BOM and ease of design. With short lead times and the elimination of design issues related to quartz crystal resonators – such as cold startup, EMI problems, the need for motional impedance (ESR) and negative resistance testing at every design and layout cycle – these active resonators reduce time to market. Devices eliminate the need for tuning capacitors required for parallel resonant XTALs. And as an active device, devices can drive two clock inputs, further reducing component count.
