Opto-chip technology enhances LED flash for cell phones

OSRAM OPTO SEMICONDUCTORS OSLUX LED is 50% brighter and smaller than previous generations and provides uniform light via a chip employing state-of-the-art UX:3 technology. Coupled with an optimized lens, device has an area of 3.9mm² and a height of 2.5mm (previously 3 mm) increasing its output to 150 lux. What’s more, the light is more evenly distributed over the surface and can illuminate a wider area compared to previous chip technologies. In addition, the common dead spot in the center of the illumination area is completely absent.
