Webinar: California Proposition 65 product warning
November 16, 2016
On 16 November 2016, Claigan Environmental Inc. will present a webinar the new California Proposition 65 product warning requirements for 2018. This webinar will discuss in practical terms the new warning requirements and how to manage compliance.
With an average of 150 violation notices per month, California Proposition 65 is most heavily prosecuted restricted material legislation in the world. Until the introduction of the new legislation, violations could be avoided with a simple generic warning with the product. To better enable consumers and professional users to safeguard themselves from chemical exposure, California has enacted new legislation with more specific warning requirements including the identification of the listed chemical causing the exposure. This webinar will go into depth on the new requirements while providing a background on what types of products and materials are currently suffering prosecution. Claigan evaluates and tests hundreds of products a year for Prop 65 and discusses specific risk products and materials both in consumer and professional spaces.
The main topics to be covered in this webinar are –
- Timeline and scope
- Consumer and occupational exposure
- Options for product warnings
- Long versus short form warnings
- Format requirements
- A detailed review of translation requirements
- Written notice option
- OEHHA FAQ (Statement of Reasons)
- Current Prop 65 prosecutions and high risk products / materials
- Plus a number of more subtle practical details
Due to the anticipated interest in this topic, three (3) webinars are being held on November 16 to accommodate a larger audience and global time zones including Asia.
