Introduction to Noise Parameters using the R&S ZNZ

This webinar will be discussing noise characterization of active devices. As wireless applications extend to higher frequencies, link budgets for RF transmissions become more critical. Losses are the dominant factor defining the link budget, thus the receivers need to be very sensitive with minimal own noise contribution to offer the needed signal-to-noise ratio in order to ensure a stable link. Noise figure is an important characterization describing the capabilities of the receiver. Noise characterization extends the characterization across different impedance to understand the capabilities and to find the sweet spot for target operation. We will introduce the topic explaining the requirements and the importance of the measurement, discuss different approaches, and show measurements with results up to 50GHz.
