The intelliWEAR group and program of the intelliFLEX Innovation Alliance is dedicated to the promotion, growth and development of the smart textiles and wearables industry in Canada. Its focus is on new and growing companies that are developing and commercializing products and applications for various applications, as well as organizations in the eco-system that can support these active producer companies with research, development, testing, software, materials and manufacturing products and services.  The agenda will include an introduction of new members, a report on events over the year and discussion of proposed events and activities for 2022.  If you have not done so already, please join the IntelliWEAR group on Linked in.  Do also contact Marie O’Mahony with any news or topics that you think would be of interest to the membership.  marie.consultant@gmail.com

About the Speaker:

Marie O’Mahony of O’Mahony Consultancy, a sole proprietor consulting firm, offers more than twenty years’ experience in smart materials, advanced textiles, wearable technology, sustainability and future trends.  Dr. O’Mahoney’s current roles include Founder + Director of O’Mahony Consultancy, and Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Art (RCA).  Marie is a successful author in her field with six books on smart materials and advanced textiles published since 1994, five of these with Thames and Hudson.  O’Mahony Consultancy has an international client list that includes VF Corporation, CTT Groupe, RipCurl, Canadian National Research Council, the Mayo Clinic, UNStudio, Microsoft, Messe Frankfurt, adidas and NIKE.  She has previously served on the Australian Government’s Textile, Clothing and Footwear Innovation Council (TCFIIC) and is currently a Leadership Council Member with intelliWEAR. This company has a detailed understanding of smart textile and wearables, a quickly emerging market/industry segment for Canada.
