SKAA-enabled Atlantic Technology speakers win multiple awards during CEDIA Expo 2019

SKAA, the new wireless HiFi audio standard developed by Edmonton-based Eleven Engineering Inc., made waves on the 2019 CEDIA Expo show floor with some exciting new award-winning products from Atlantic Technology that incorporate the technology.

Atlantic Technology’s FS-252 Wireless SKAA/Bluetooth Active Multi-Room Stereo Speakers Won a CE Pro 2019 BEST Product Award for Best Bookshelf Loudspeakers; the Gatecrasher3 SKAA-Enabled Wireless Soundbar System Won an AVSForum ‘Best of CEDIA 2019’ Award.

Eleven Engineering is a market leader in semiconductor products for wireless audio for home theater, multi-room, portable, professional, 12 Volt (car, truck, motorcycle, power sports, marine) and gaming applications. Atlantic Technology was named a winner of CE Pro Magazine’s 2019 BEST Product Award for Bookshelf Loudspeakers for its FS-252 wireless multi-room SKAA/Bluetooth active stereo bookshelf speakers. Atlantic Technology’s SKAA-enabled Gatecrasher3 soundbar also walked away with an AVSForum ‘Best of CEDIA 2019’ award.

Proud to be a part of such a prestigious award

“We had a tremendous CEDIA Expo overall and had a great showing in Atlantic Technology’s booth, but this was the icing on the cake and we could not be more proud,” says Rex Whitehead, Eleven Engineering executive vice president, sales and marketing. “Atlantic Technology is bringing to market such an extensive and dynamic offering of products that demonstrate the strength and versatility of our SKAA wireless audio technology. These accolades demonstrate both Eleven Engineering’s and Atlantic Technology’s combined efforts and we are proud to be a part of such a prestigious award.”

According to CE Pro, the BEST (Best Electronics Systems Technologies) award recognizes the most noteworthy new products and technologies. This year’s winning entries were chosen by an independent voting panel of integrators along with the editors of CE Pro. Products were individually judged on multiple criteria including innovation, functionality, competitive advantages, benefits to the end-user and benefits to the integrator.

One transmitter to four devices

The FS-252 system is comprised of a pair of compact 2-way high-powered speakers luxuriously finished in a high gloss piano black. Each is equipped with two 3.5-inch woofers, a 1-inch silk dome tweeter and a passive radiator. The system is shipping now. The Gatecrasher3 Home Theater Multi-Room Soundbar System is a 3-in-1: Active Wireless Soundbar; Wireless Surround Home Theater; and Wireless Multi-Room Audio System. It becomes available for sale Q1 2020.

SKAA wireless lets the integrator easily create a dedicated multi-room home audio superhighway with a long range up to 150 feet with a robust, interference-free low-latency signal eliminating lip-sync issues with TV and gaming. The SKAA-enabled products can stream music between them, up to four sets simultaneously – one transmitter to four devices.

“In environments laden with heavy Wi-Fi and Bluetooth traffic, SKAA navigates through these hostile environments with best-in-class reliability,” Whitehead added. “SKAA also allows for uninterrupted audio signals that are delivered with the highest sound quality to all speakers without the latency that is inherent in other wireless solutions.”

Built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter

SKAA is available as a built-in technology not requiring an external transmitter in purpose-designed partner products. SKAA transmitters work with iOS & Android mobile devices, Mac & Windows computers, televisions, and just about any product with a line output or a headphone jack.

“WiFi is more of a detriment rather than a benefit to those who value superior wireless audio in their everyday lives, as well as wireless audio product manufacturers who cater to and depend upon these customers,” added Whitehead.
