Element AI, a Canadian company that turns cutting-edge AI research into scalable software solutions, will be hosting AIFest at this summer’s Startupfest in Montreal. Taking place today through Saturda, AIFest is gathering players from the global tech community to discuss building and scaling AI startups while educating the broader public on AI’s potential.

The event breakdown goes as follows:

Day 1 will focus on how to build an AI startup and think about key concepts such as trust, bias, ethics, and human-centric design.

Day 2 delves into the mechanics of scaling an AI startup: fundraising, legal concerns, and the challenges of deployment.

Day 3 is geared towards the general public and will cover topics like AI for Good, healthcare, chatbots, conversational commerce, gender bias, and the future of work.

In addition to the AIFest programming, Element AI is working with strategic partners including IVADO, Fasken and Real Ventures to deliver actionable insights via curated sessions at the AI Tent on StartupFest Village. Each organization will be giving 30-45 minute content workshops designed for startup founders with key principals on-hand to answer audience questions. Specific content includes discussions on intellectual property rights given by Fasken, insights on ecosystem building via IVADO and a guide to fundraising presented by Real Ventures.

“Element AI believes strongly in supporting the startup ecosystem, the Canadian ecosystem, and the AI community at large,” said Element AI CEO Jean-François Gagné. This festival is designed to be actionable, since the audience is made up of builders and people seeking to make change in the world. The speakers were carefully chosen, active members of the AI startup community, and will bring unique insights into the opportunities of working in an AI startup. I look forward to seeing innovators and collaborating with the best and brightest our community has to offer.”

“Startupfest is a manifestation of the entrepreneurial ecosystem that surrounds us here in Canada,” said Startupfest Founder Phil Telio. “For a few days in July, we’re able to show the world how the leaders in the startup community including fledgling companies, investors and partners innovate and go about changing the world. This year is very special because we’re working with Element AI to curate an entire AIFest to showcase bleeding edge technology. I can’t wait for the best minds in the space to put their thoughts and efforts into common, shared and exciting goals.”
