Moves aim to reflect global focus

ECIA announces it is restructuring and expanding the mission of the Supply Chain Council, a key member-driven element of the association. Now with a global focus, the scope of issues tackled by the Supply Chain Council has been expanded to include IT/cyber security and Quality Risk Assessment.

Concurrently, the ECIA has initiated a search for new leadership of the reorganized Council, comprising an ECIA staff vice president and carefully selected member subject matter experts whose job functions are aligned with the specific industry challenge.

“The Vice President of Industry Practices of the newly reorganized Supply Chain Council will oversee the group of member volunteers that work on behalf of the industry to develop best practices and guidelines that address issues and inefficiencies within the authorized supply chain today and in the future,” explained Victor Meijers, senior vice president. “The goal will be to enable the Council to be more nimble and responsive to the global supply chain challenges of the industry. The wider scope of the expanded Council will make it possible for ECIA to take a leadership role in being the global champion for the authorized channel and really make a difference in solving industry challenges,” he concluded.
