The annual HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) and electronicAsia will be held concurrently at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 13-16 October 2017. The two fairs will gather around 4,200 exhibitors from across the globe, representing the world’s largest electronics marketplace to showcase a wide variety of intelligent products, innovative startup ideas and electronic components.

Entering its 37th edition, the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), while the 21st electronicAsia is jointly organised by the HKTDC and MMI Asia Pte Ltd. In the 2016 editions, the two fairs attracted a total of close to 94,000 buyers from around 150 countries and regions.

“Hong Kong’s electronics industry is the largest merchandise export earner of the territory, accounting for 66% of Hong Kong’s total exports in 2016,” says Benjamin Chau, deputy executive director, HKTDC. “As the important electronics trading hub in Asia Pacific, Hong Kong is the ideal location to stage influential trade fairs for industry players to preview the upcoming trends and exchange market intelligence.”

Held concurrently under one roof, the Autumn Electronics Fair and electronicAsia, will gather electronic products, components and technologies, to create a bundle of crossover business opportunities between the exhibitors and buyers.

The popular Tech Hall launched last year will return to showcase tech-savvy products in five thematic zones: 3D Printing, Robotics & Unmanned Tech, Smart Tech, Startup and Virtual Reality.

Startups are a growing force in the electronics industry to bring in new concepts and products to the market. A Startup zone will continue at the fair this year, featuring around 100 international startups to present their innovations, allowing investors to explore investment and partnership opportunities. A series of themed events will be arranged to provide an excellent platform for startups to present their ideas, which include pitching sessions where startups can pitch solutions or product ideas to potential investors on the spot, “Startup, Smart Launch” where newly developed technology and products can be introduced to buyers, as well as Startup Mentoring sessions where successful entrepreneurs will share their experience with startups.

3D printing technology is getting popular and buyers can find the latest 3D printers, filament and other materials in the 3D Printing zone. Another returning zone is Robotics and Unmanned Tech, presenting the latest models of aerial cameras, industrial and home-used robots, electric scooters and more. Smart Tech zone will showcase electronic devices featuring Internet of Things (IoT) applications for modern living. Launched last year, Virtual Reality zone will return to feature a range of VR headsets and related technology.

electronicAsia

A new zone of Power Supplies will be launched this year to present various types of batteries, power supplies accessories, solar photovoltaic components and technologies. Tapping into the latest trend of automation, another debut zone will be Sensor Technologies where exhibitors will showcase different types of sensors and related technologies for buyers’ effective sourcing.

Meanwhile, the World of Display Technology zone will continue to house exhibitors of visualisation technologies. The Printed Circuit Board & EMS zone will display printed circuit board and related services including design, manufacture, test and more. Other product zones include Keyboards & Switches and the Hong Kong Metal Parts & Components Pavilion.
