IoT dev board partnership aimed at makers, engineers
With the aim of supporting rapid prototyping and IoT development efforts of makers and engineers, IoT solutions provider myDevices recently partnered with SparkFun Electronics, global leader in open-source hardware.
With 30.7 billion connected devices in use by 2020 (as estimated by Bain Capital), providing the necessary development tools to makers will determine the growth of customized IoT solutions brought to market. myDevices’ Cayenne platform, free for makers, supports the work of 260,000 users with its drag-and-drop IoT Project Builder, allowing those users to quickly design, prototype, and commercialize IoT solutions without needing enterprise-level resources.
SparkFun’s ESP8266 Thing Development Board is the first non-LoRa board to be integrated and supported in the platform through its IoT Ready Program, opening up development possibilities to makers looking to create IoT projects with WiFi using Cayenne. SparkFun has led the way in bringing open-source digital and programmable electronics to hobbyists, engineers, pro-makers, and education markets. The company provides development boards, sensors, kits, robotics components, and instructional resources to facilitate IoT projects.
