Data centre campus opens in Richmond Hill

DC1 – one of the most advanced data centres in Canada opened recently in the Greater Toronto Area. Nestled into in a five-building digital campus in Richmond Hill ON, the development was created by the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ and Urbacon Data Centre Solutions Inc. (UDCS) a leading owner and operator and manager of wholesale colocation data centres. 

With 10 MW of critical power, DC1 is the first to open in a five-building digital campus in Richmond Hill ON. With ground-breaking on DC2 and white space available as of July 1, 2017 in a new state-of-the-art 30 MW data centre in downtown Montreal, UDCS is at the forefront in responding to demand for highly reliable, highly efficient, highly secure, scalable and interconnected colocation options with its next generation data centres.

Reliable, efficient design
The Richmond Hill digital campus has a total power availability of 80 MW, in 500,000 SF of data centres with highly reliable 2N design to ensure uninterrupted power supply. As the first Canadian wholesale colocation provider to install the eco-superior KyotoCooling system, UDCS takes advantage of the most economical and efficient data center cooling technology on the market today. The facilities are designed to achieve a 1.1 or better Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), providing a significant power saving to UDCS’s clients.
