Halifax-based Fundmetric has been selected as one of one of five companies across Canada to participate in the Google for Entrepreneurs Tenancy Program. Beginning in September, Fundmetric founders , Mark Hobbs and Chris Kolmatycki will work closely with Google to further develop the predictive and analytical algorithms that allow charities to increase donations and effectively manage contributions.

Fundmetric is a Halifax based firm that specializes in connecting donor interests with the charities of best fit. This is accomplished through the utilization of big data analysis leading to state-of-the-art data-driven story telling. Founder, Mark Hobbs views this a great contribution to the start-up community because of Google’s strong industry recognition as a market leader in data analysis.

As part of the six month program, Fundmetric will have the opportunity to pitch the company to Google Management and receive mentorship from key Google individuals. Further, the program also includes an automatic acceptance to the Communitech Startup Services Group’s Fundamentals Program and continued global business opportunities with Google.

Hobbs said, “I am delighted to work closely with Communitech and Google in Waterloo. It is important to recognize the valuable resources that the Nova Scotia start-up community has provided us. As  the  majority of team will remain in Halifax, it is exciting to see the recognition the Halifax start-up community is receiving nationally.”
