FCI connectors get HDMI nod
Staff
Electronics CEL<divFCI has successfully passed all qualifications required by the HDMI licensing organization for its recently released vertical HDMI connector. As a result, the connector has now been added to FCI's roster of HDMI-approved connectors for consumer electronic products such as digital televisions, DVD players and set-top boxes. FCI's right-angle version of the HDMI connector had already been approved and offers a much lower profile than others available on the market.
FCI’s vertical HDMI connector features a dual-shell design, which helps reduce the risk of EMI leakage. Two additional ground pins further improve EMI performance. The HDMI connectors feature a larger-than-average outer shell design that offers robustness that greatly reduces the risk of deformation during transport, installation and application. A large-area cover allows for easy application in automated pick-and-place processes. The overall profile of the connector has been kept to a minimum, which allows OEMs to minimize space consumption on the printed circuit board.
