Based on a flexible Pentium core, the SBC2596 provides a powerful controller in the 8" x 5.75" EBX mechanical standard. Up to 32 channels of 16-bit A/D and four channels of 14-bit D/A provide an accurate temperature-compensated data acquisition system.
The on-board GPS provides timing that can synchronize the data acquisition of geographically distant systems to within 190ns, while also providing location and altitude. This makes the SBC2596 highly suitable for power grid monitoring, epicenter detection, and other applications.
