Ottawa-based Wavefront, Canada’s Centre of Excellence for wireless commercialization and research, has formed a partnership with wireless test solution provider Anritsu Electronics Ltd., to lower the costs and increase the availability of Long Term Evolution (LTE) development and testing in Canada for small and medium enterprise (SME) level businesses, device manufacturers, and mobile virtual network operators (MVNO).
The LTE pre-screen testing capabilities available as part of this partnership provide a turnkey approach to quality assurance and certification of the test scripts for LTE applications prior to their submission to a mobile carrier. Among the capabilities are:
* An online webinar series showcasing Anritsu Electronics-developed test solutions to help the device manufacturer, carrier and MVNO sectors;
* Development of a pre-screen testing service offering turnkey approaches to certification of test scripts and carrier submission;
* Access to Anritsu Electronics LTE Layer 1, 2 and 3 pre-screen testing equipment, including the MD8430A Signaling Tester with Rapid Test Designer (RTD), MD8470A Signaling Tester, and MD8475A Signaling Tester.
“In partnership with Anritsu, we are pleased to establish the country’s first LTE Layer 1, 2 and 3 pre-screen testing facility,” says Wavefront president and CEO, James Maynard. “LTE is at the forefront in the evolution of next generation networks and this agreement provides wireless SMEs with streamlined access to critical time-compression and quality assurance testing equipment previously not available in Canada.”
