Mike Turner, president and CEO of Melitron Corp., Guelph ON, is in elite company, as he recently completed QuantumShift, an exclusive invitation-only leadership development program for 40 of Canada’s most promising entrepreneurs.
Successful CEOs and business leaders from across Canada finished the intensive program at the Ivey Business School in London ON. Founded by KPMG Enterprise and the Richard Ivey School of Business at The University of Western Ontario, QuantumShift uses Ivey’s highly regarded case study method and award-winning faculty to help take the skills and talents of these entrepreneurs to the next level.
“It was truly an inspiring experience to participate in this interactive learning environment at Ivey with such an exceptional group of business leaders from across Canada,” says Turner. “The unique program has undoubtedly equipped me with some valuable tools that can help me focus on leading our company through our next stage of growth as we continue to innovate alongside our customers.”

This February, Melitron marked the firm’s 20th anniversary of its business operations. Turner cites the company’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, customer focus, attention to detail and investment in people and technology as the formula for Melitron’s success.
Ted Turner founded the company as Millennium Manufacturing in 1995 to meet a demand for high quality fabricated sheet metal components for the consumer appliance market. The company enjoyed early success in forming strong relationships with leading OEMs but soon recognized a shift offshore in the manufacturing and assembly of these products. In response, the company began expanding their capabilities to support more complex products aimed at technology markets.
“We’ve come a very long way since the early days of producing simple sheet metal components for the consumer appliance market” explains Mike Turner who officially took the helm from his father Ted in 2011.
