Lytica Inc., Ottawa-based provider of electronic component cost analysis, has released its enhanced Component Cost Estimator (CCE), which the firm is calling the industry’s first and proven web based component price estimating tool.
Enabled by the world’s largest independent database of electronic component pricing, CCE provides performance and market price intelligence for electronics designers and procurement professionals. First released in January of 2012, the web-based application has grown to become a helpful tool for electronic hardware designers and procurement professionals.
With the release of the enhanced version, users will enjoy a 10-times improvement in speed while maintaining exceptional value in new product cost assessment, accoding to Lytica president Ken Bradley. The new interactive Competitiveness Rating calculator reveals pricing previously hidden by quantity steps or company size.
“Customer response to the Component Cost Estimator has been exceptional” says Bradley. “The enhanced product’s release is a milestone in new product costing and analysis.” The enhancements improve analysis speed as well as allowing much larger files to be processed. Very large product files can now be analyzed in minutes enabling supplier negotiations that ensure profitable new product introductions.
“Any hardware designer not using the enhanced CCE tool is seriously disadvantaged in understanding its product’s cost competitiveness and improvement opportunities.” adds Rob Hamashuk, Lytica’s sales and marketing director.
