Global Electric Electronic Processing Inc., (GEEP) Dorval QC, has been selected as an Microsoft Authorized refurbisher (MAR) in Canada, a new OEM program that enables Microsoft to work with large refurbishers to license genuine software on refurbished PCs for the commercial market in Canada.
GEEP is a fully integrated global service provider, offering a complete solution for the management of used technology and end of life electric, electronic and telecommunications waste. GEEP has taken a leading role in providing responsible solutions for the recycling and refurbishment of used computers and the MAR program is an important tool to help ensure that business owners and consumers receive the highest value and security when purchasing refurbished computers.
Under the commercial MAR program, GEEP receives access to Microsoft's proprietary tools which allows them to install a genuine Microsoft Windows XP operating system on each of the refurbished computers it processes for remarketing. The MAR program is only for large, established refurbishers who process significant volumes of equipment. Only select companies meet the criteria for the MAR program and GEEP's proven qualifications of secure data wiping and reporting, technical expertise, appropriate security measures and conformance with all applicable regulations has ensured their acceptance for the MAR program.
"GEEP provides peace of mind when it comes to our technology asset management and electronics recycling services. This peace of mind is now being extended to help reduce software piracy through the MAR program by providing the retail, corporate and reseller channels with affordable Microsoft operating systems installed on our quality refurbished products." says Bruce Hartley, VP business development at GEEP.
