Ottawa–based OCM Manufacturing reached an agreement with Diffraction Limited to provide key services around a newly acquired line of scientific imaging hardware products. OCM is providing design for manufacturing (DFM) guidance in addition to turnkey manufacturing fulfillment for Diffraction’s line of SBIC CCD cameras that serve the astronomy market.

“We are pleased with our decision to work with OCM Manufacturing, as they are adding excellent value as we assimilate the SBIG product line,” says Diffraction president and CEO Douglas George. “OCM has been instrumental in supporting product redesigns, making design improvements that have a positive impact on product manufacturability, streamlining our manufacturing processes, and consistently delivering reliably and with high quality standards.”

George Henning, president of OCM Manufacturing, added: “It is very satisfying to work closely with Diffraction to review the SBIG product designs from a manufacturability perspective. We are finding opportunities to update and improve legacy designs; to reduce lead times through supply chain expertise; and to help Diffraction to secure the future potential of its CCD cameras.”
