The melding of both technologies aims to produce world class screen protectors for smartphones, tablets and digital cameras.

Existing Phantom Glass products are engineered to include a silicone nano-adhesion layer, which allows for easy installation and fills most existing minor surface scratches. The product is also treated with a specialized oleophobic nano-coating to ensure that fingerprints and residues wipe off with ease, while still maintaining 100% clarity.

“We are constantly innovating to ensure Phantom Glass is objectively the highest quality product available on the market,” says Phantom Glass founder Richard Waters. “Our innovation and product design, combined with Corning’s glass technology, will further elevate our product offering far above the competition.”

Up to 5 times improvement in scratch resistance

Accessory Glass 2 by Corning is designed specifically for screen protector application and is strengthened through an ion-exchange process. Compared against standard soda-lime glass, it provides:

* Improved scratch resistance: up to 5 times improvement in the force required to cause deep strength-degrading scratches, often accompanied by chipping

* Helps reduce breakage for drop events on various everyday indoor/outdoor surfaces: up to 25% increase in drop performance.
