Electronic components distributor Allied Electronics, Fort Worth TX, has expanded its portfolio by nearly 35,000 new products from a number of important suppliers – now available through the Allied website – as part of its global initiative.

“As part of our extensive ‘Globalize the Offer’ initiative, we’re expanding our offering by making the product portfolios of both Allied and our UK-based sister company, RS Components, available worldwide,” says Frank Cantwell, vice-president of product management for Allied. “When complete, more than 75% of our part numbers will be visible around the world. This initiative began in 2013, when we expanded the product line of TE Connectivity, and advanced even further this past summer, when we added more than 16,000 products from eight suppliers. Now we take another step forward with this, our latest expansion, making more than 52,000 new products available to our customers in 2014.”

The suppliers that have been expanded in this latest phase include:Schneider Electric, Microchip, ST Micro, Siemens, SMC, 3M, Bourns, Nichicon, Epcos, Kemet, ABB, Vishay.

“Our plan is to announce additional expanded lines every six to eight weeks,” Cantwell adds. “Once this expansion is completed, our customers will have access to more of the parts and products they need than ever before. It’s an exciting initiative, and one that will certainly increase our profile as a global company with a local presence.”
