Thalmic Labs, the innovative technology company behind the Myo gesture-control armband, welcomed Prime Minister Stephen Harper for a behind-the-scenes look at the company’s flagship product. The PM was in Waterloo recently announcing Communitech’s advancement in the selection process for the Canada Accelerator and Incubator Program.

Thalmic Labs gave the Prime Minister a tour of the company office and labs, including a look at the design and development process as well as a demo of the Myo armband flying a Parrot drone. The Myo armband is the first gesture-control technology of its kind. Instead of relying on cameras or voice control, the Myo armband measures electrical activity in your muscles, giving you the ability to wirelessly control and interact with computers and other digital consumer products around you using simple, natural movements.
