Montreal-based Future Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with Crocus Technology, a leading developer of magnetically enhanced semiconductor technologies for mobile security, embedded microcontrollers, harsh environment electronics and magnetic sensors.

“Considering the ever increasing demand for non-volatile memories and products capable of enhancing the performance and security of chips for smart cards, mobile phones and data servers, Crocus’ disruptive Magnetic Logic Unit (MLU) technology is difficult to ignore,” says Dragos Chima, director of the Mmemory business unit at Future.

Future Electronics also recently signed a distribution agreement with Cymbet Corp., Minneapolis MN, which will include the entire family of EnerChip Smart Solid State Batteries and power management solutions in North America and South America.

Cymbet’s EnerChip rechargeable solid state batteries are created using semiconductor processes and are sold in both standard plastic IC packages and as bare die batteries. EnerChips enable new innovative product capabilities that previously could not be realized using legacy energy storage devices such as coin cell batteries or supercapacitors.
