Digi-Key signs global disty agreement with Active-Semi

Digi-Key Corp., Thief River Falls MN, has signed a global distribution agreement with Active-Semi International Inc., Dallas TX, maker of a breadth of purpose-built analog and mixed signal power ICs that enable a variety of broad and emerging applications, such as smartphones, tablets, wearables, automation and embedded motor control in consumer electronics, commercial and industrial markets.

“We are excited to add Active-Semi to our portfolio,” says Mark Zack, vice-president, global semiconductor product at Digi-Key. “Their keen focus on offering turnkey solutions with analog power and power application microcontrollers will provide an excellent opportunity for our customers to streamline their development cycles.”

Active-Semi’s portfolio of analog and mixed signal SoCs (systems-on-chips) are scalable core platforms used in numerous applications within the embedded digital control systems space. The company provides Power Application Controllers, PMU, dc-dc, ac-dc, and LED drivers that significantly reduce solution size and cost while improving system-level reliability. Active-Semi’s turnkey solutions deliver energy-saving power conversion architectures that minimize energy usage and compress system development cycle-time by greater than 50 percent.
