Electronics CELMontreal’s Octasic Inc., has announced that it has partnered with Waves Telecom Inc. in order to distribute Octasic’s VoIP/media gateway hardware and software solutions to the fast-growing market in India.
Waves Telecom specializes in meeting the demands of equipment manufacturers for semiconductor and telecommunications products. Through this partnership, Waves Telecom will provide distribution and value-added services for Octasic’s products throughout India.
“We cater to the ever-growing needs of our telecom customers,” said Ms Sangeetha, technical director for Waves Telecom. “Since so much of our demand is for high-performance and highly-efficient solutions for VoIP and media gateway solutions, our agreement with Octasic is fulfilling a true requirement for the Indian market and allows us to expand our portfolio of world-class products.”
Octasic’s products – including the Vocallo product family for voice, video and wireless applications – are based on its clock-less Opus DSP core architecture, that provides a high performance-to-power ratio.
“India is clearly a huge market for telecommunications products and is among the fastest growing in the world,” said Fabio Gambacorta, vice president of sales and business development at Octasic. “Our agreement with Waves Telecom extends the reach of our leading media gateway solutions to a highly desirable set of customers.”
The agreement with Waves Telecom follows the recent announcement of a distribution partnership with Hakuto Co., Ltd., a distributor of electronic components and semiconductor devices in Japan. Through these two new distribution arrangements, Octasic continues to expand globally and grow its local support infrastructure in order to meet and support the demands of its customers.
Octasic’s product family includes its Vocallo BTS, a fully integrated digital signal processor sub-system optimized for Layer 1 GSM/EDGE basestation applications, the award-winning Vocallo MGW, a media gateway solution that increases system density while reducing system cost by delivering the lowest power per channel, and the OCT6100 series of carrier-grade echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement devices.
