Electronic components distributor Newark announced that it will celebrate its 25th anniversary in Canada by donating a percentage of its Canadian Web site orders to Friends of the Earth Canada (www.foecanada.org), an affiliate of one of the world’s largest environmental networks. Newark’s contribution will assist the Friends of the Earth Canada in its efforts to reduce climate impacts through targeted energy conservation and efficiency programs. Progress towards that goal will be tracked on the distributor’s homepage. An image of a silver maple leaf, symbolizing Newark’s 25th anniversary in Canada, will turn green as donations progress. Customers who order by phone, fax or email can also request that their purchase be applied towards this donation. Newark opened its first Canadian office in February of 1983 in London, ON. It now has 50 employees across Canada, including field sales representatives in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, Toronto, SW Ontario and Quebec City. www.newark.ca
