Class-B Marine AIS Demonstrator

CML Microcircuits a provider of low-power semiconductors for global wireless and wireline communications markets, announces a marine AIS (Automatic Identification System) Class-B demonstrator. The DE70321 is a complete AIS Class B (IEC 62287) technology demonstrator aimed at speeding manufacturers’ design and development of marine AIS Class B transponders and AIS receiver products. Using CML’s CMX7032 AIS Class B baseband processor with RF synthesiser IC, the design is a flexible platform utilizing CML’s proprietary FirmASIC component technology, which configures the on-chip sub-systems of the CMX7032 via a Function Image; a data file that is uploaded during device initialization which configuring the device’s function and feature-set, thus allowing users to configure and evaluate with two build options: Class B transceiver (using CMX7032 FI-1.x), dual channel Rx-only (using CMX7032 FI-2.x). www.cmlmicro.com
