MUNICH – When Canadian electronics firms decide to pursue business in Europe, or build on established relationships, in many cases they chose Electronica, held every two years in this historic and picturesque city, as a base for their marketing efforts.
Once again, several Canadian companies were gathered at the show’s Canadian pavilion, November 14-17, including Galazar Networks from Ottawa. Galazar is a supplier of framer and mapper semiconductor
solutions focused on Ethernet over SONET/SDH (EoS), Storage Area Networking (SAN) and Multi-Service datacom and telecom applications. The company does 30 to 40 percent of its business in Europe and was here to spread its reach by attracting representatives in countries in does not currently cover, said marketing manager MatthewCoakeley.
"We have connected with new reps and reconnected with existing reps at the show. Ontario and Canadian government incentives have made the trip good value for the money," Coakeley said. Galazar recently introduced its CopperNode and CopperNodeHE product, an integrated solution targeted at delivering Ethernet services over the copper-based PDH infrastructure that serves over 90 percent of enterprise locations and cellular base station sites.
