Electronics CELGrafTech International’s eGraf HS-400 material based heat sinks provide an answer to design engineers when aluminum cannot meet power dissipation requirements and copper is too heavy.
GrafTech can custom design and thermally model heat sinks with any type of base design: copper base/graphite fin; copper base with heat pipes/graphite fin; aluminum base/graphite fin; and aluminum base with heat pipes/graphite fin. GrafTech heat sinks utilizing eGraf HS-400 material, a composite of natural graphite, feature weight advantages over traditional heat sink options. With a density of 1.9 g/cm3, the material is 28 percent lighter than aluminum and 78 percent lighter than copper.
