EXTENDED CURRENT RANGE SCRs

{mosimage}The industry standard current for an SCR in a SOT-223 surface mount package is 0.8 Amps. Central Semiconductor now manufactures 2.0 Amp (CS223-2M and CS223-2N) and 4.0 Amp (CS223-4M and CS223-4N) devices in the SOT-223 package. The M suffix signifies a peak repetitive off-state voltage of 600 volts, while the N suffix signifies 800 volts. These devices are rated at a gate trigger current (IGT) of 200µA maximum. The SOT-223 package offers a low profile of 1.8mm, which is ideal for small electronic products with limited circuit board height.
