ELECTRONICA BECOMES APPLICATIONS FOCUSED

Electronics CEL

The focus at this year's Electronica, the international trade fair for electronic components and assemblies, will be applications.

Taking place November 9-12 at the New Munich Trade Fair Center, Electronica will have separate areas devoted to technologies such as wireless communications, MEMS (micro-electromechanical systems), and automotive applications, each with exhibitions and lectures.
The user forums Automotive Innovation and World of MEMS were introduced at the last Electronica two years ago. In 2004, organizers continue to emphasize the significance of automotive electronics and micro-electromechanical systems as a driving force for innovation and business.
The Automotive Innovation segment will show components and subsystems for use in vehicles, in particular the fastest-growing applications: driver communications; active and passive safety systems; and comfort.
The World of MEMS will show components and subsystems for use in mobile radio, industrial sensor technology, optics and data transmission, and medical technology.
